Classical Revival~
A Bridge Between Worlds

An interactive generative tapestry that marries the ancient beauty of natural flora with the transformative potential of generative art. Drawing inspiration from the rich histories of botanical art and classical aesthetics, this project re-envisions these elements within a dynamic, interactive system. Utilizing coding techniques, it crafts a living, interactive canvas of generative vegetation that grows and flourishes in response to viewer interaction.

At the core of "Classical Revival" lies its interactive nature, transforming viewers into co-creators. Through touchscreens and mouse interactions, participants can introduce new abstract vegetation into the artwork, integrating their brushstrokes into the existing generative landscape. This act of creation is immediate and intuitive, allowing for a spontaneous exploration of form, color, and movement that pays homage to the spontaneity of nature itself.

Technical Details~

Interactive!~ Draw on the artwork in live mode to add your own strokes into the composition.

Live Keyboard Controls~

Press "c" to clear out the Canvas and draw the art from scratch.

Press "s" to save a .png of the current moment of the art.

Responsive!~ The work is format agnostic. and will work on any screen ratio or resolution.

Touchscreen Enabled!~ The interaction will work great on any touchscreen or interface.

Resolution Independent~

Using “Ctrl/Cmd” + “+/-”, viewers can alter the artwork's resolution.

Higher resolutions introduce new layers of definition and detail to "Classical Revival".

GPU required~ The work is using GLSL Shaders and requires a graphics card for optimal performance.

Due to the complexity of the code, some devices may take over a minute to render the artwork fully.
